Facilities: Environmental Flow Flume

The environmental flow flume is used to model density and turbidity currents. It also allows the study of jet erosion and delta formation and evolution, among others. It has been designed to allow for recirculation and variable gate openings. The flume is 49.2 ft (15 m) long, 4.6 ft (1.4 m) high, and 1.5 ft (0.45 m) wide. Currently, the bed is at a 5% slope.
